Design Minimalist Home with Cooland Concrete Exterior
This minimalist Argentine home by Colle Croce, Casa DV,
has a unique design that pulls activity toward the back of the house.
You enter the home through a concrete entryway. This austere,
industrial material dominates the exterior of the main floor.
A
single open room takes up most of this first floor. It seamlessly flows
through sliding glass walls into a covered patio and backyard. The
area in the back of the house is set up for eating outdoors, lounging in
the sunshine, and swimming laps.
Open
stairwells connect the large room to the home’s second floor, which
rests on concrete pillars over the back patio. It feels like a natural
extension of the room below due to the slanted roof, which extends
upward from the entrance.
The orientation of the home maximizes
natural light and keeps the home cool during summer months. Air flows
into the home through its open back wall and out through openings above
the entrance. [Photography by Javier AgustÃn Rojas]
