Natural Up-Chair Invites to Creativity and Comfort Ideas

Natural  Chair Invites to Creativity and Comfort Ideas

Up-Chair from Tonon
Designed by Martin Ballendat for Italian manufacturers Tonon, the Up-Chair was updated to a sleeker, more attractive version. This is how design evolves. One chair at a time. Besides offering a comfortable physical touch, its shape and manufacturing story inspires anyone to improve on what exists. From the older aluminum-cast version to this elegant wood or leather version, the manufacturing process and design work only got better. So now the Up-Chair made in Italy provokes you to take a seat and try on the shape, the textures, the size.
“Up-Chair from Tonon is an extremely emotional product. The comfort is also achieved through the use of an innovative manufacturing process of the shell,” designers reveal.

A chair that seems cut in American walnut decorates even an empty room. Following the contours of the design, it completed by innovative armrests in American walnut.
“The material is called FREEFORM ADVANCED, an integral solid-coloured foam, whose molecular structure is very stable and partly self-supporting, that means more flexibility and more comfort as well as lightness to the chair. The shell is available in 10 fresh colors, the metal base is available both matte or polished chrome finish.”

Natural Old Barn Renovation in the Italian Countryside Ideas

Natural  Renovation in the Italian Countryside Ideas

architecture modern house Italy
Mantua-based studio ARCHIPLAN completed the renovation of an old barn in Bomporto, Italy. The building had been partially damaged by an earthquake and was in dire need of a contemporary update.  Surrounded by abandoned farm buildings and the cultivated fields of the Modena plain, the residence is an oasis of tranquility.
The front of the house is characterized by “a harsh nature, grumpy and unhelpful, which is opposed to a domestic and faithful interior space and a large façade that opens to the endless countryside.” The wooden deck and perfectly manicured lawn extend living spaces, providing opportunities for spending time outdoors.

Minimalism was key to designing a clutter-free and highly functional home. As you step inside, you will be greeted by spacious and airy interiors, thanks to the open plan layout and walls painted in white.
A black bookshelf divides the dining table and the lounge area with TV. This is a perfect spot for late evening family gatherings, and cozy tales around the fireplace. The bedrooms are located upstairs, with floor-to-ceiling windows allowing unobstructed views of the surroundings. Used in abundance, the wood accents create a welcoming feel throughout. [Photos by: Davide Galli]

Nice Wooden Brick House Matches Tradition Ideas

Wooden Brick House Matches Tradition Ideas

04_AD
Built by Jaro Krobot, this project was an exciting exploration in material innovation. By using new building technology to recreate a traditional home, the atmosphere of the surrounding area was preserved.

06_AD

This house in Lučatín, a small village in central part of Slovakia, was completed in 2014. It sits on the site of an older home that had become dilapidated beyond repair. The current wooden house reproduces the footprint of the former house, following the traditional floor plan of the area.
There were set limitations with the construction: care was taken to maintain an existing stone wall and the surrounding coniferous trees to preserve the landscape. Demolishing a barn in the back of the property opened up new views of the road and hills without changing the general layout of the home.

All efforts were made to reuse materials from old buildings and barns in the village. While not everything could be created from recycled materials, all the suppliers were sourced from the surrounding area.
One major innovation was a Swiss process called STEKO, developed with ETH Zurich. These are bricks made of solid spruce wood, which can be filled with different kinds of insulation. All wooden sections of the home were built in five days.

Amazing Unconventional Artist’s Studio in Vietnam Allows Nature Inside Ideas

Amazing Studio in Vietnam Allows Nature Inside Ideas

architecture unconventional studio
The Terra Cotta Studio, located next to Thu Bon river in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam, has a particular architectural structure. Noted for being the working space of renowned artist Le Duc Ha (who creates beautiful sculptures and pottery), the studio is a stunning art structure itself to engage in.
This project is a cube-shaped building. Immediately surrounding the studio is a bamboo frame that is used for drying out terra cotta products. It is further designed with two big benches for resting, relaxing, and having tea. This raised platform also serves as a fence to divide the studio and the workshop.

The bricks were built interleaved creating holes which allow the wind to provide a bit of natual air conditioning. At the same time, these unconventional “walls” allow the artist to interact with the surrounding environment: the sound of the rushing river and the crisp breeze.
“The studio was designed as a place for containing, contemplating and spreading the emotion of the artist with his both finished and unfinished artworks,” the developing architects at Tropical Space said.
The interior of the studio is a three-floor wood frame system, where cutout square modules act as shelves for displaying artwork. There is a staircase leading upstairs, to hallways and seating benches. As you walk through the hallways, you will observe the workshop, the river banks, and the expansive garden through the windows and brick perforations. [Information provided by Tropical Space Co.,Ltd; photography by Oki Hiroyuki]

25 Whimsical Ways Kids Room Ideas

 Whimsical Ways Kids Room Ideas

In fact, we believe that keeping walls white or gray and adding in smaller bits of color gives you even more possibilities to make a kids room creative and playful. That, and it will keep you from repainting when they outgrow lime green or Barbie pink walls in three years. Trust us.
When it comes to finding colorful accents, first consider what your child already has. Children’s books and stuffed animals are often fun colors, so put them in a place that doubles as decor. Wall decals, bedding, and rugs all can add color and pattern to a kids room, but can be easily changed with age.

Bright Books

This kids room comes to life with shelving that showcases a children’s book collection. This makes the books easier to access, looks organized, and the covers add bright colors to an otherwise neutral room. Once the kids are grown, swapping out the toys and books for other accent pieces is simple.

Diamond Removable Wallpaper

This pick of diamond removable wallpaper adds a bit of whimsy but looks adult enough to redecorate the room for a growing girl.

Scandinavian-Inspired Decals

A few triangles go a long way on these white walls. With an all black, white and wood color palette, this room remains youthful with cartoonish accent pieces. Where can we get a big cloud pillow for ourselves?

Vibrant Furniture and Accessories

This bedframe is a funky statement piece that says “big girl” without saying “too big”. A decal, a floral pillow, and touches of color make this kids room sweet and simple.

Perfectly Patterned

The collection of children’s books and mixing of patterns on this bed compliment the cool tones in the rest of the kids room, leading to a youthful-yet-sophisticated style.

Touches of Turquoise

The bedframe, the curtains, the record player — the details in this modern bohemian bedroom make it bold without being overwhelming. We love the sheets, too.

The New Nautical

This bed is literally stacked, and we love it. Nautical goes whimsical while a pile of patterns on a bright white canvas. The blueprints in their yellow frames complement the space perfectly.

Geometric Dreamin’

A mix of geometric prints, a flying washi tape airplane, and a few knick-knacks turn this kids room into a space to dream and create.

Shaped Up

The accents of triangles, stripes, and circles in this room add interest and playfulness to this Scandinavian space.

All About Orange

Someone loves foxes, and we love this room. Though highly modern, the wood paneling, teepee-style bookshelf, and “tent bed” make this room positively kiddish and outdoorsy.

Simply Beachy

If there’s one example of the power of accent pieces, this is it. Throw blankets and pillows bring out the colors of a tropical print, and the result is a kids room as tranquil as the beach itself.

Room for Three

When three’s company, the room needs to be good. Platform and lofted beds save space and look simple, leaving accent pieces such as books and pillows to create the kid-vibes.

Neon Nautical

Nautical styles often take on a stuffy and elite aesthetic. This kids room changed that with a with a neon orange desk and accent pieces.

Space to dream

Even without the diamond wallpaper, the sweet collection of pillows and stuffed animals under this dreamy canopy would make almost any kid love naptime.

Touches of Love

Tiny bits of red go a long way in this bedroom. Every accent piece is dainty and adds a tiny bit of color. Except the bear.

Patterned Pink

Though the walls are neutral, this room is packed with colors and patterns that pop. Even teenage girls wouldn’t mind sharing this room.

Go for Garland

Pink textiles and a strand of feminine garland are all this gray room needs to become the perfect place for a growing girl.

Butterfly Walls

A bold wallpaper can be mostly monotoned and still make a big statement in a kids room.

Cottage-Styled Bedroom

So many sweet accent pieces in this room, but we love the ombre dresser, bed pillows, and pompom rug.

A statement wall does just that, and does it exceptionally well with the addition of a sun and a few pillowy-cloud decals. Call it the room of our dreams.

3D Butterfly Collage

A little overwhelming, but amazingly beautiful. These butterflies stick onto walls like decals. Meaning they look great on, but come off without a fight.

Pink and teal go together like peanut butter and jelly. We can’t even single out a favorite part of this girly space.

Nature-Loving Nursery

The eye is immediately drawn to the silhouetted pine tree decals, but the rustic accents in the rest of this nursery (like the unique crib textiles) make it feel like a modern cabin.

Bright Birch Decals

The tree decals are a bit more subtle in this nursery, where white pops on gray walls. Colorful birds add playfulness and warmer hues.
